DGIQ 2022: innoscale on Tour in San Diego, CA

San Diego, CA, 06/20/2022 | The innoscale team did a trip to California as a sponsor at the DGIQ West Conference in San Diego. The conference is one of the biggest events worldwide – hosting over 500 data governance leaders and personnel for a week in San Diego – and one of the highlights in the data world. The agenda is always focusing on all areas of Data Governance and Information Quality, and created for organizations that are just starting out as well as advanced practitioners.

Once you’ve been there – you’ll always come back, as the saying goes.

It became already true for us. Having attended the conference repeatedly, this year we also attended as exhibitors. It was a great chance to get in contact with a farsighted audience, knowing about the highlights and problems in data governance. From them, we gathered feedback on our latest software product DATAROCKET Guide.
The idea for this tool was born exactly at that conference last year in December. The keynote speaker raised the topic
that large data governance projects in enterprises stall because there is no transparency about data and little or no awareness on how company data relates to business processes. As a software company, we recognize the same problem: A customer buys our data management solutions, the project starts, implementation is quickly completed aaaaaaand… the project got stuck! When it comes to important meta data information, which are building the fundamentals for data maintenance, documentation lacks and shows gaps. A company-wide documentation for business processes or data maintenance processes is outdated or missing. The customer is dealing with excel sheets and data governance is not much more than a word they are talking about – the philosophy on the importance and the impacts of a true data governance initiative is missing.

Now – barely half a year later, we are proud to present our ideas. DATAROCKET Guide offers a symbiosis between a data catalog and a business process management tool – including a lightweight interface that allows and reinforces the use without in-depth IT knowledge.

The tool is not ready yet to be sold but the ideas are visible, testable and can be experienced in a browser app. We are more than happy that people are interested in our product and support it with their feedback and suggestions.
